What To bring to a notarization?

Getting your documents notarized doesn't have to be difficult! Here are a few checkpoints to help ensure that you bring the right items with you to make the process go smoothly! J.N.K. Services strives to ensure that you as the customer are satisfied and happy with the process from start to finish!
1. The Document(s) to Be Notarized
- Do not sign it beforehand. Most notaries need to witness you signing it.
- If multiple documents need notarization, bring them all.
2. Valid Photo Identification
You must prove your identity. Acceptable forms usually include:
- Driver’s license
- Passport
- State-issued ID card
- Military ID
(Your ID must be current or not expired, and contain a photo, signature, and physical description or date of birth.)
3. Any Required Witnesses (if applicable)
- Some documents require witnesses in addition to the notary.
- Share this information before ahead to make the notary aware. If needed, a notary can sometimes provide witnesses if you are not able but ASK beforehand.
4. Payment (if required)
- Many notaries charge a small fee (usually $5–$15 per signature) plus additional fees for traveling, printing, etc.
- When booking the appointment, we ensure that all fees are disclosed and agreed upon in advanced, along with the type of payments that are accepted.
- At J.N.K. Services LLC, all forms of payment are accepted except for checks.
5. Instructions (if provided)
- Bring any instructions from the organization or agency requesting the notarization.
- This helps ensure the document is completed properly.
